Low Tide at Laugharne

Size: 14" x 10"

Original: Collection of Ms. Lucy Landes

Winner of an Honorable Mention in the Colorado Watercolor Society Members Show, 2008, this watercolor depicts a small creek in the Welsh coastal village of Laugharne, home to Dylan Thomas, the author of literary classic Under Milk Wood. His house, built on rocks overlooking the estuary of the Rivers Taf and Cywyn to which this creek connects, is now open to the public. His writing shed where he worked and died is also viewable. Under Milk Wood is said to be based on life in Laugharne.
