"I think your painting 'Echoes of Grandeur' is absolutely a watercolor masterpiece!" – Ron Leonhardt, Evansville, IN

Sudeley Castle was once the home of Katherine Parr, the only surviving wife of Henry VIII; she died there and is buried in the chapel. Queen Elizabeth I visited the castle and would have gazed out over the gardens from this magnificent upper window. Henry VIII himself, Anne Boleyn and Lady Jane Grey were also earlier visitors. This part of the castle was "slighted" (destroyed) by Oliver Cromwell's forces after the English Civil War as a penalty for its Royalist role: it was the headquarters of Prince Rupert, Commander of the Royalist cavalry for a time and King Charles also visited. The surviving part of the castle is still the family home of the Dent-Brocklehurst family and Lord and Lady Ashcombe. The castle is open to the public click this link to see more details: http://www.sudeleycastle.co.uk
